A group of four of CTBCC members has been conducting a weekly Dharma class to inmates at the Otero County Prison Facility in Chaparral, New Mexico, every Saturday from 1pm to 3pm since February 7, 2015. Although it is a small group of four inmates, the energy is very good and continues to grow. The inmates are not only interested in Buddhist philosophy but also practicing mindfulness and incorporating Dharma teachings into their daily activities. We are very fortunate to have the opportunity to practice giving Dharma. May we continue to have the capacity to give. If you are familiar with Buddhist teachings and have been practicing Dharma regularly on a daily basis, you are welcome to join the group. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested.
Motivation is very important. We can show love, respect for
others, honesty in whatever we do, whether it's politics, economics, business,
science, law or medicine. With a good motivation we can help humanity through
what we do. But if, for example, we use science and technology with a poor
motivation they can bring fear and the threat of global destruction. That's why
compassionate thought is important for humankind.
